Our Lady of Czestochowa is known throughout Poland and world.  She is also called the Black Madonna.  She was designated as Queen and protector of Poland in 1656. It is thought that the original iconic picture was painted by St. Luke on a table top in the 1st century. This icon from Jerusalem is a copy of a Byzantine icon.  The icon is framed in a silver and gold colored arch on wood.
