Each is made as it was in the time of the Bible, one at a time by hand. Therefore, each one will be slightly different. The sizes range from 4 to 6 inches and the opening size may also vary. However, each one is a faithful reproduction of a jug found in an ancient site in Judea and made with native red clay from the Holy Land and will be similar to the one in the picture with a spout and one handle. This juglet could have been used to hold honey, yogurt or cream. Though small compared to today's standards, it is the actual size of those used 2000 ago.
These pottery pieces are not glazed. While the ancients used them as is, it is not recommended today that we drink liquids that have been stored in them. However, liquids may be placed in them for demonstration or ceremonial purposes.
